Every year the interest in the Chinese language in our country increases. Therefore, in line with market demand and public need, our school has undertaken the mission to build a good team and coordination with centers, universities and institutes to best provide the opportunity to learn Chinese in Bulgaria. This is a goal that we do not just strive to achieve, but is a personal mission of each teacher on the school team.

We present to you the first private high school with intensive study of Chinese language in Bulgaria – “Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi”, Sofia.

We offer intensive study of Chinese in the following age groups:

– preschool group (4-6 years old children)

– initial stage (grades 1-4)

– junior high school stage (5-7 grade)

– high school stage (grades 8-12)

Students are divided into groups according to their level of language proficiency. New students start from zero.


The school works entirely with interactive teaching methods, including interactive textbooks, boards, dictionaries, games, interactive maps and more. Our team consists of Bulgarian teachers who graduated in Chinese philology and a highly qualified Chinese teacher sent by the Confucius Institute. It is important for us that each of the language levels be improved to the highest level. We pay special attention to the individual language components such as phonetics, hieroglyphics, vocabulary and grammar. In teaching, different systems are combined in order to master each of the individual elements and to achieve full language competence. To this we add the study of Chinese culture, which is an integral part of language teaching.

  1. Methodology of teaching at the level of phonetics

Chinese is a tonal language, which means that each syllable is pronounced with a certain intonation. The correct pronunciation of this intonation (tone) is extremely important, as it has a semantic function. For this reason, in the first stage of learning Chinese, the so-called Introductory phonetic course in which students get acquainted with the peculiarities of the Chinese language from a phonetic point of view. With the help of phonetic exercises their hearing and sense of the tonal side of the language develops. One of the most important methods we practice in teaching phonetics is repetition and imitation. This is done both through a native speaker – a Chinese teacher, and through audio recordings, songs and other interactive teaching methods.

  1. Methodology of teaching at the level of vocabulary

2.1. Contextual method – the new word is considered in a text, explained by examples, students also compose examples themselves;

2.2. Comparative method – a comparison is made with words that are similar in meaning or antonyms;

2.3. Associative method – an already studied word is used and through it, through the method of association, a new word is introduced (associative reaction).

  1. Methodology of teaching at the level of hieroglyphics

The Chinese script uses Chinese characters. In this regard, special attention should be paid to hieroglyphics when learning Chinese. Hieroglyphs are combinations of a certain set of graphic elements (so-called features). When combining individual features, significant units (graphemes) are formed, which are used both as a separate simple hieroglyph and as part of complex hieroglyphs. Graphemes and their mastery help students to understand the structure of the hieroglyph, as well as to memorize its spelling faster. Most often, hieroglyphics become the most interesting part for Chinese language learners.

  1. Methodology of teaching at grammar level

The teaching of grammar is central to the study of foreign languages. Grammar rules are taught in the native language. Numerous references and parallels are made with the grammar in the Bulgarian language, in order to facilitate the assimilation of the grammatical rules in the Chinese language. Our teachers teach grammar clearly, accessible and competently. In the practice of teaching, the emphasis is on combining different types of exercises from different aids, because for us it is extremely important for students to form a solid grammatical basis on which to step in their further development with the language.


1. Training according to the State educational standards and curricula;
2. Upgrading the knowledge and skills in mathematics and Bulgarian language by expanding the curriculum with additional collections and manuals;
3. Intensive foreign language training with a choice of Chinese and Russian with hours 10 per week for primary and lower secondary stage and 18 hours per week for secondary stage;
4. English language training as a second foreign language, from a preparatory group and 1. class up to 12. class;
5. Practical use of the acquired knowledge and skills through work on group projects;
6. Individual profiling depending on the interests of the student by inclusion in various clubs by interests – piano, logic tasks, foreign languages, karate, dance, etc .;
7. Development of critical thinking skills as a key competence of our time;
8. Development of audience speaking skills and presentation skills;
9. Development of soft skills – personal habits, language, way of communication, task management, relationships with classmates, parents and teachers;
10. Selected and motivating learning environment.
