-Отговори на въпроси;
-Реч на китайски език по тема, която се съобщава само два дни преди състезанието;
-Ново предизвикателство с въпроси, свързани с китайския език и хилядолетната китайска култура;

Nikol Yalamova Wins First Prize at the International Chinese Bridge Competition
Nikol Yalamova received First Prize at the international Chinese Bridge competition for students under the age of 18, held in Beijing and Tianjin from September 8 to 23, 2026.
Together with her teacher, Ms. Neli Nanova, Nikol achieved the remarkable distinction of winning First Prize for Europe and placing 7th in the world!
The story of this extraordinary success began when Nikol qualified to participate in the international stage of the competition.
In China, Nikol successfully passed the first round, which consisted of an oral examination and an on-stage talent performance. This achievement earned her a place among the top 30 students in the world!
In the second round, the organizing committee presented her with a demanding challenge consisting of four stages:
-Answering questions;
-Delivering a speech in Chinese on a topic announced just two days before the competition;
-Facing a new series of questions related to the Chinese language and China’s millennia-old culture;
-Participating in debates among contestants grouped by continent, covering five different topics.
The debate required participants to present their viewpoints on a specific topic clearly and systematically, followed by a rapid-fire verbal duel with the other contestants.
Once again, Nikol rose to the challenge. Her efforts were rewarded with success as she secured a place among the top 15 students in the world!
At this stage, Nikol, representing Bulgaria, ranked ahead of seven contestants from Russia, as well as participants from Belarus, France, Laos, Montenegro, Slovakia, and other countries with strong traditions in Chinese language education.
In the third round, only three European countries remained represented in the competition: Bulgaria, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The competition format became even more challenging, complex, and demanding.
The contestants faced another four exhausting stages: questions, new speeches, and new discussion topics.
Next came a series of questions presented in the form of tic-tac-toe, where simply providing the correct answer was not enough. Contestants also had to play strategically against their opponents, preventing them from earning two points — a game within a game.
The third round concluded with yet another debate.
And once again, Nikol succeeded!
She finished ahead of the contestant from the United Kingdom, leaving only Nikol and the representative of Italy in contention for the European championship title and a place among the five continental champions!
All the hard work and dedication had paid off!
In a competition featuring an entirely new and complex format, with each successive round presenting increasingly demanding challenges, Nikol claimed first place in Europe and 7th place worldwide.
Only five contestants received First Prize — one representing each continent!
This is a story of extraordinary achievement. A story of mental resilience, perseverance in learning, and the ability to overcome challenges with almost no time to prepare — all under the bright lights of television cameras.
The competition in China is held in a televised format. Students spent up to 16 hours a day rehearsing in the studios of China’s national television broadcaster.
They practiced on the bus on their way to the television studio, in the corridors, and on the main stage. Even when they sat exhausted in their seats, their lips continued to move, silently repeating yet another newly prepared speech in Chinese.
A team of two — student and teacher. Far from the familiar comfort of home and the loving embrace of family, sharing a room, working in perfect harmony, and gradually becoming a single, united force.
When Nikol no longer had the physical strength to write Chinese characters or recite speeches, Ms. Neli Nanova continued the preparation by telling her stories about China or asking practical questions about the structure of Chinese characters.
An exceptional achievement for Bulgarian Chinese language studies.
This is the highest individual distinction ever achieved by a Bulgarian student in this competition — a success built on the student’s talent and hard work, together with the unwavering dedication of her teacher.
